As we look back on the past year at Vetspire, we are so proud of the progress we’ve made. 2025 was a breakthrough year, marked by the launch of our Complete AI Suite for Clinical Intelligence, Vetspire Pay, powerful new specialty modules including WINK (Opthamology), SMILE (Dentistry), and HOOF (Field-Ready Equine), and the debut of our patient mobile app.
Behind the scenes, our team worked hard to strengthen the foundation that keeps your practice running at its best. We delivered meaningful enhancements across Reporting, Inventory, Scheduling, Admin Triggers, Client Communications, Wellness Plans, and more. Our focus was on improving efficiency, performance, and day-to-day workflows.

And with so much innovation packed into the year, we couldn’t fit it all into a single post. Below are just a few highlights hand-picked by our product team, including our accessibility and interface enhancements, Whiteboard NOVA updates, and our new two-way integration with CUBEX.
We gave Patient Banner a new look + bonus update
Our 2025 brand makeover gave us an opportunity to launch several UI updates across Vetspire, including a new Patient Banner! “I still think the new Patient Banner is my favorite update of 2025,” says Hannah Scott, our Clinical & AI Product Business Analyst. “Information is easier to find now because client details are separated from patient details. Even the placement of tags makes it easier to tell the difference between client and patient tags, instead of the tags all displaying in one place.”

Hannah says that the ability to prioritize patient alerts is her “runner-up favorite update”: Admin users can drag-and-drop patient alerts to customize the order in which they display when multiple alerts are applied to a patient’s chart.

We added the ability to transfer patients in our Electronic Treatment Sheets (NOVASheets)
To support hospital workflows in which patients are seen by multiple providers, we added the Provider Transfer feature to NOVASheets! With this feature, you can plan and track provider shift changes to easily see who is working with the patient at what time. All provider transfers are recorded in a detailed Shift Log on the NOVASheet.
“One of our goals with Provider Transfer was to find a way to save staff time spent manually correcting invoice line items when a patient is transferred from one provider to another,” says Debbie Ramirez, our NOVA Product Business Analyst. “This makes tracking provider responsibility and production credit much easier, especially in busy ER environments.”
We laid the groundwork for improvements to our reporting suite
Over the last year, we made several updates to our Financials and Inventory & Services reporting features to enhance visibility and compliance and support data-driven decision-making. “Our team has worked countless hours to ensure that the architecture of our financial accounting database is accurate and reliable,” says Patrick Nesheim, our Data & Insights Product Owner. “That database records all invoice activity – so when reports source properly from that foundational database, all financial reporting data is complete.”
The Data & Insights team reached numerous milestones in 2025:
- The Compliance Dashboard now supports recording client communication outcomes and displays additional details about patients with due protocols to better support client and patient retention.
- New filters for discounts and payment methods in the End of Day reporting dashboard, as well as the ability to download the Total Paid report as an Excel file, help ensure complete visibility at close of business.
- We consolidated discount reporting into a single, comprehensive Discounts Report and introduced a dedicated Coupons Report with coupon usage and expiration breakdowns, improving insights into sales campaigns
- The new Medications report enables easy data analysis of patient medication records. Additionally, updates to the Controlled Drugs report make it easier to access critical details of controlled substance prescriptions, including DEA license information for providers. Both reports support granular filtering by key details, such as patient alerts, departments, and drug schedules.
We are developing a two-way integration with CUBEX
We’re putting the final touches on our upgraded integration with CUBEX. Currently, patient information can be sent from Vetspire to CUBEX via Tools in Patient Chart. With our new integration, CUBEX items issued from your cabinet automatically display in the associated patient’s chart for approval. When an item is returned to the cabinet, the change is then recorded everywhere it should be – in the medical record, invoice, and inventory – so you don’t have to double your workload with manual updates!
We are adding the abilities to:
- Approve and decline CUBEX orders within Vetspire
- Sync orders for both medication and non-medication products to CUBEX
- Assign orphaned CUBEX transactions, allowing emergency medications to be linked directly to a patient once the medication record exists in Vetspire
- Remove wastage from patient charts and client invoices

“This integration is going to be a game-changer for practices using Cubex,” says Peggy Breckenridge, our Integrations & Platform Specialist. “Speaking as a veterinary technician with nearly 30 years of experience, this update fixes real, daily workflow pain. You’re going to love it!”
